Very kind and accommodating staff. Delicious lobster dinners with gorgeous view at sunset! We also got the mussels and the coconut broth was amazing!
This was my favorite meal in Mt Desert! We had a scenic sunset view, perfect weather for all fresco dining, and beautiful dishes that were beyond delicious. So much more than I expected from a place called a lobster pound. We had the lazy lobster and the halibut. Scrummy apps included the crab fritters and the cornbread. The kids loved their mac and cheese as well. Don't miss Abel's!
This place was great! I loved my lobster bisque and spicy mussels. My uncle had the steamed lobster, and he loved it. People were very friendly. Beautiful views. Do it, you’ll like it!
Realized I had forgotten to review this place after our fall hiking vacation last year - it’s a wonderful spot for fresh seafood with a view. We went at the end of the season and were seated right away - the server was nice about letting us move to a table in the sun that had opened up as it was a bit chilly in October but still great to sit outside by the water. My partner really enjoyed his lobster mac and cheese, but I’m allergic to lobster (so sad when in Maine!) so I had the line-caught halibut. It was the best meal of the trip for me, perfectly cooked and over the most delicious parsnip puree. They have a great selection of beer, and a decent wild Maine blueberry pie that I couldn’t pass up.
Delicious food, incredibly friendly service, and absolutely beautiful views! We got the lazy lobster, cornbread, and lobster bisque. All wonderful! Our entire group had such a lovely meal here and can’t wait to visit again!
Delicious meal! We had their chowder fries, a flavorful lobster named Leon, lobster bisque and blueberry pie! Would definitely recommend. Just don’t buy their beer, I regret spending 12 for a single pint.
Had a wonderful Memorial Day Dinner at Abel’s Lobster this weekend! What a great restaurant and experience. We showed up at 4:45 (opened at 4:30) and were able to get an outside seat with a nice view of the water. A woman in front of us recommended the mussels and she was right, they rocked! Our waitress Rachel was awesome and provided great service. She had good suggestions and timed our courses perfectly! 10/10 would recommend for a nice date night or dinner while visiting Acadia and or the Mount Desert Island area. The vibes here were spot on for the type of experience we wanted. Friendly service, relaxing views, and great food! A really incredible find. My wife had the ‘lazy lobster’ and I ordered the lobster mac & cheese. We shared an order of cornbread and had drinks. The lobster meat was very sweet and cooked perfectly. The cornbread was so, so good. The staff was really friendly, attentive and great with our kids. The food was out of this world and the views were spectacular. I can’t wait to go back.
